Partner FAQs

Partner FAQs

Answers for local authorities, registered social landlords, charities and other organisations looking to work with Ark Housing.

We partner with a wide range of organisations including local authorities, registered social landlords (RSLs), housing associations, charities, NHS trusts, probation services, and other third-sector organisations that work with individuals in housing need. If you are unsure whether your organisation is eligible, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss.

Once a partnership agreement is in place, your organisation can submit referrals through our dedicated referral form or directly via your allocated Ark Housing liaison officer. We assess each referral within 24–48 hours and confirm placement availability as quickly as possible. We aim to make the process as seamless and fast as possible to reduce time in temporary or unsuitable accommodation for those in need.

All Ark Housing properties are fully compliant with HMO licensing requirements, fire safety regulations (including FD30S fire doors and interlinked smoke alarms), EICR electrical certification, Gas Safety (CP12) certification, and EPC ratings of C or above where possible. We conduct regular inspections to ensure ongoing compliance and maintain detailed documentation for all partner audits.

We understand that housing need is often time-critical. For urgent referrals, we can typically confirm placement and have a resident moved in within 24–72 hours, subject to availability and the completion of essential checks. Please contact your liaison officer or our main office directly for emergency placements.

Residents placed through partner organisations receive wraparound support tailored to their needs. This can include tenancy readiness coaching, budgeting and financial literacy support, wellbeing check-ins, signposting to mental health and substance misuse services, employment and skills referrals, and move-on planning towards independent long-term housing.

Ark Housing currently operates primarily across the West Midlands with a strong base in Birmingham. We are actively expanding our portfolio into other regions across the UK. If you are a local authority or organisation outside our current coverage area and are interested in partnership, we encourage you to reach out as we may be able to support your area.

To formalise a partnership, we typically require an organisation overview or registration documents, confirmation of your safeguarding and referral policies, a signed partnership or service-level agreement (SLA), and the details of your designated referral contact. Our partnerships team will guide you through all required paperwork and ensure onboarding is straightforward.

Each resident has a dedicated key worker who conducts regular check-ins and maintains a support plan. Progress reports can be shared with partner organisations (subject to resident consent and GDPR compliance) to enable joined-up care. We also carry out regular property inspections to ensure the living environment remains safe and well-maintained.

Funding structures vary depending on the type of partnership and the housing pathway. Payments may be made directly by the referring authority, through housing benefit or Universal Credit on behalf of the resident, or via an agreed service-level agreement. We are experienced in working within local authority budget frameworks and will work transparently with you to agree a suitable arrangement.

Getting started is simple. Complete our Partner Enquiry Form on this website, or call or email us directly. One of our partnerships team members will arrange an initial conversation to understand your organisation's needs, explain how we work, and outline the next steps. We aim to have new partnerships fully onboarded within 5–10 working days.
